Hans Hauri - Marco Polo Plaza's General Manager
A Swiss national and seasoned hotelier, Johannes "Hans" Hauri is a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lausanne, has worked in Asia's hospitality industry for 25 years, and is fluent in English, German and French.
The pioneering general manager of the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu since its opening in 2006, Hans Hauri is now leading the hotel’s associates in delighting guests with genuine Asian hospitality and efficient service expected from this international brand.
After barely three years in operation, the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, under his leadership, was awarded its Deluxe Class Hotel accreditation by the Philippine Department of Tourism Region VII, after having complied with or exceeded the requirements prescribed for a five-star city hotel.
Presently, Hans Hauri is the President of the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce Cebu Chapter. He is also the recipient of the 2010 “Executive of the Year” award by the Philippine Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (PASAP) and the “Hotel Personality of the Year” award by SKAL Makati during its 21st Tourism Awards in 2010.
